Coming to ACMT
Once you're in Dubrovnik, there are four main ways to get to us: on
foot, by car, by a taxi or using a public bus line.
Walking to ACMT
There's no better way to meet a city then to walk it through - as
ACMT is located near the Old Town you can follow the signs to get to it from
no matter which part of the city you are in. There is no more than forty minutes
of walking from the college to the furthest out point of Dubrovnik. City maps
can be obtained immediately upon arrival on the airport, main bus station and
most newspaper stands. Other than this, information and plans are offered in
many tourist agencies spread throughout the city and marked with a white letter
I on blue background. More information can be found on website of Dubrovnik's
Tourist Board http://www.tzdubrovnik.hr/
Coming to ACMT by bus
Libertas Dubrovnik is the provider of public bus transportation in
Dubrovnik. All of their buses are easily recognizable because of orange color
and line numbers written on the windshield and by the entrance doors of the
buses. Buses can be entered only through the front door by the driver as the
ticket check / paying can be done only by the driver. Ticket for single ride
in the city area costs 8 Kunas if bought on one of the retail locations (hotel
receptions, newspaper stands, tourist agencies), 10 Kunas if bought in the bus
from the driver and the monthly ticket with unlimited number of rides for students
costs 80 Kunas. City bus lines number 1, 1a, 1b, 2, 4, 6 and 9 all use Pile
as their tour start/finish station so they are suitable for arriving at the
college depending on your starting point.

Coming to ACMT by car
ACMT is easily accessible by car as it is located near the main and
only road connecting Old Town with the rest of Dubrovnik. To reach it you have
to follow road signalization to get to the Old Town or the hotel Hilton Imperial
this understands driving through the one way Zagreba?ka street, turning right
on the first intersection by the Firefighters - station and arriving to Pile,
the west entrance in the Old Town.
First adequate parking place is located to the right of the street and is clearly
marked. Parking on that parking lot costs 15 Kunas per hour.
After passing Pile (the street is still one way only, while the transit from
opposite direction is allowed only for the public transportation vehicles) you'll
pass by the hotel Hilton Imperial.
Hilton's garage also has public access and fee is 170 Kunas for four hours,
320 Kunas for eight hours and 400 Kunas for twenty four hours.
Fifty meters after passing by the Hilton you have to turn left in the Don Frana
Bulića Street. Entrance in the street is by the Art Caffe and it is marked with
a sign for parking as a large parking area is located at the end of this dead
end street. Around 200 meters long street will lead you by the ACMT building
to the gravel surfaced Gradac car park which is free, but most of the time full.
Where to...
Eat
Easiest and cheapest way for students to eat in Dubrovnik is to get
their food chart at the Student Center, verify it at any desired mess hall and
buy food coupons which can later be exchanged for either prepared meals or f
& b products to take home. Price of one coupon is 7 Kunas, while the Ministry
of Education provides additional 12,30 Kunas for each coupon. This sums the
price of one meal on 19,30 Kunas and includes complete menu. Three restaurants
are currently offering subsidized student nourishment: Hotel Ivka's Restaurant
(Od Sv. Mihajla 23); Maestoso - Sr? Restaurant (top floor of the Sr? shopping
center, Obala Stjepana Radi?a 25); Riva Restaurant (Lapadska obala 20). All
restaurants offer large variety of menus each day and top quality food.
As tourism center Dubrovnik also offers numerous restaurants specialized mostly
in Mediterranean cuisine. Prices range from very affordable to the most expensive
ones, but the quality and health standards are met everywhere. Dubrovnik also
has a unique set of meals, emerged as a blend of authentic flora and fauna,
long history and influences from continental, Mediterranean and the Orient are
something that gourmets shouldn't miss. Buying fresh fruit, vegetables or fish
in the open-air green markets (located in Gruž and the Old Town) is also a special
experience.
