APPLY FOR ADMISSION

Admission to RIT/ACMT is selective, but our admission process is a personal one. We are interested in learning about your interests, abilities, and goals in order to provide the best information and guidance we can as you select the college that is right for you.

Students may apply for admission for the fall, winter, spring, or summer terms of each academic year. This flexible schedule allows students to begin their studies at RIT/ACMT in the term that best meets their needs.

     - Application for admission (available online at http://www.acmt.hr/applicationform/)
     - High school transcript
     - Essay
     - University transcript (transfer students only)
     - They will also need to participate in a personal interview.

Once you have submitted the online application, our admission staff will contact you to schedule a personal interview, and provide additional information about your application.

The admission decision

RIT/ACMT offers three programs of study: international business; tourism, hospitality and service management; and information technology. While these academic programs are designed to offer a broad base of academic courses and practical experiences, the high school preparation that is expected for each may differ. As an American university, RIT/ACMT attracts students from all over the world with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and interests. As is the case at most American universities, each student who applies for admission is considered on an individual basis. We review each application based upon the individual preparation and experiences of each student. RIT/ACMT bases its admission decisions on the following criteria:

* English language ability is assessed by the admission staff and based on the personal interview, essay, and high school courses and performance. Students who demonstrate the need for additional support in English or math are granted conditional enrollment.

Since many of our applicants are not enrolled in English-speaking high schools that administer the SAT or ACT examinations, these test results are optional. There is no required application fee.

Croatian state examination

The nationwide secondary school exit exam (dr?avnamatura) determines the level of achieved student competencies for Croatian students. While a passing score is necessary for high school graduation, and is a requirement for enrollment at RIT/ACMT, our admissions staff will review applicants prior to receiving the results of the dr?avnamatura. Students should complete the application process early, in order to secure a position at RIT/ACMT prior to the administration of the exam. Test results do not become available until summer. Qualified students are admitted to RIT/ACMT in March with their enrollment contingent upon the required dr?avnamatura score.

NOTE: Students may be subject to the RIT/ACMT placement test based on their dr?avnamatura English score.

Transferring to RIT/ACMT

Students who have completed some university study may be considered for transfer admission to RIT/ACMT. Transfer students are considered for admission based on similar criteria as high school students, as well as university performance. Any previously completed university course work will be evaluated for official transfer credit prior to enrollment.
