FOREIGN STUDENTS
Students who don't have Croatian citizenship are obliged to register their stay in the Republic of Croatia and get a Temporary Stay Permit.
An application for the issuing of the Temporary Stay Permit must be submitted by a foreign student at a diplomatic mission or a consular office of the Republic of Croatia, who then sends the documents to the Police Station in Dubrovnik or Zagreb (dependant on your application) to be evaluated and granted. The Temporary Stay Permit is valid only for one academic year.
We advise you to contact the consular office at your earliest convenience in order to find out what exactly is needed. This is a process that can take up to 90 days, so early contact is crucial.
We will be able to assist you with some of the paperwork that is required. Please contact us with specific details after you receive info from the diplomatic mission/consular office. Once approved, the temporary stay permit is affixed to the student’s travel document/passport. As this is a document that is issued annually (for each academic year), you must re-apply for a new one at least 30 days before the previously authorized temporary stay period expires.
For all details about the process as well as the list of required documents, please contact the nearest diplomatic mission or a consular office of the Republic of Croatia or Dubrovnik Police Station (+ 385 20 433 244) and Zagreb Police Station (+385 1 456 3381) dependent on your RIT/ACMT application.
