The explosive growth of digital media, social computing, and the Internet have redefined how we live, work, and play. There is unprecedented demand for professionals who can help people in virtually any field access these emerging computing technologies.
Be prepared to excel in the role of users advocate. To be successful you must see the world through their eyes and learn about the tasks they perform and why. Once you know how people use technology, you can select, integrate, and deploy technology that enhances their lives. This requires skills in information gathering, user-centered design, and deployment. In the information technology program, you'll gain these skills by studying core competencies in:
- Programming and application development,
- Web and multimedia content development, or "interactive media,
- Database management systems and enterprise application development,
- System administration,
- User-centered design and deployment, including needs assessment, human-computer interaction, technology transfer, and ongoing support.
Our program covers these foundation areas through a mix of technology-based courses in areas such as Web, digital media, database, and mobile interaction with user-centered courses in areas such as technology transfer, needs assessment, and human-computer interaction. We emphasize project-based learning, teamwork, and interaction among students to help you develop vital information gathering and communication skills. In addition, you'll be required to complete three quarters of coop�erative education and gain valuable experience and connections in your field.

The bachelor of science degree program in information technology is fully accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org, as well as the Middle States Association of Colleges and Universities in the United States.
